Cliff's first Adverts and first chart entry and the very first UK Top 100 (both October)

 
            So early, EMI got the 'A' side wrong!













50 years ago newcomer Cliff was the lowest new entrant of the week. Interestingly, two songs he later hit with, 'It's All In The Game' and 'Willie And The Hand Jive', were in the US Top 20 that week.

Sorry it’s such a poor quality photo copy but I thought you might be interested in seeing this chart from the UK Juke Box trade magazine, ‘World’s Fair’, on October 11 1958. Among the surprise entries are records by such artists as Jimmy Clanton, Little Anthony, Ed Townsend, Betty Johnson, Eddie Fontaine, The Jamies, The Shields, Cliffie Stone, Buddy Knox, Johnny O’Keefe and Don Gibson,
